Breaking News: Waqt News Channel Completely Shutdown in Pakistan



Lahore : Waqt News has closed its operation throughout the country and the whole staff has been shunt out . Though the TV channel administration has fired around 200 staff members including their anchors in the name of right sizing to control its expenses .

But tonight Islamabad based a senior journalist & former anchor of Waqt News tweeted that ” whole of the Waqt News staff sacked and offices across Pakistan shut down.”

A few days before ;joint action committee consisting upon Lahore based journalists had staged protest against the termination of jobs of the channel staff and demanded their immediate restoration.

Waqt News was a Pakistani TV news channel owned by Nawa-i-Waqt media group founded by late Majeed Nizami. It was launched in early 2007 in Pakistan.

Nawa-i-Waqt is considered to be one of the most vocal media groups in Pakistan.
