
ISLAMABAD: A special plane landed at the Islamabad airport on Monday evening to airlift former President Pervez Musharraf to a foreign country, SAMAA reports.
According to sources privy to the development, the 12-seater plane has arrived in Pakistan to take the 70-year-old former military ruler given his name is removed from the exit control list (ECL) by the government.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif told SAMAA that Musharraf would not be allowed to move abroad to visit his ailing mother. But he offered that the government could bring back Musharraf’s mother by air ambulance.
Earlier in the day, a special court indicted the former military strongman for the imposition of emergency rule in late 2007 and other relates crimes.
