ایکس (ٹویٹر) پر "فرینڈز آف اسرائیل" نامی اکاؤنٹ سے دو گورے لوگوں کے ساتھ شاہد آفریدی کی ایک تصویر پوسٹ کی گئی اور پوسٹ کرنے والوں نے لکھا کہ انٹرنیشنل پاکستانی کرکٹر شاہد آفریدی ہمارے پاس رکے اور انہوں نے اس بات کی سپورٹ کی کہ اسرائیل کے مغویوں کو رہا کیا جائے، ہم ان کی اس سپورٹ پر شاہد آفریدی کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہیں۔

دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے یہ ٹویٹ وائرل ہوگئی اور اس پر شاہد آفریدی کو سوشل میڈیا پر سخت تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا گیا۔ اس پر شاہد آفریدی نے اس تصویر کی وضاحت دیتے ہوئے اپنی ٹویٹ میں لکھا


Imagine strolling down a street in Manchester (UK) and so-called fans approach you for a selfie. You oblige, and moments later, they upload it as some form of Zionist endorsement. Unbelievable! Please don't believe everything that is uploaded.

Seeing innocent lives in Palestine suffer is truly heartbreaking. Thus, any photo or association shared by in Manchester does not reflect my support for any situation where human lives are at stake.

I take pictures with fans from all over the globe, and this situation was no different.

I pray for peace, I pray for an end to this war, I pray for freedom.
